Daragh Clancy is a Managing Partner and serves as Global Head of Research at Tower Peak Partners, based in the firm’s London office. He is responsible for the firm's global macroeconomic and market research, leading the analysis that supports investment strategy, portfolio positioning and risk assessment across the firm's investment disciplines, as well as overseeing the publication of the firm’s research and thought leadership.

Prior to joining Tower Peak, Daragh was Head of the Monetary Policy Division at the Central Bank of Ireland, where he sat on the European Central Bank's Monetary Policy Committee. In this role, he was responsible for providing insight and guidance to the Governor in his role as a member of the Governing Council. During his time at the Central Bank, he also served as Head of Function for the Research Collaboration Unit and as Senior Advisor in the Economics and Statistics Directorate, providing specialist input into research and serving on the Bank's Transformation Leadership Team.

Before returning to the Central Bank, Daragh spent seven years at the European Stability Mechanism in Luxembourg. As Principal Economist, he was Research Coordinator for the three divisions in the Chief Economist's Department. During this time, he was awarded the prestigious Barrington Medal by the Statistical and Social Inquiry Society of Ireland. He previously held positions as Senior Economist, helping lead post-programme surveillance of Cyprus, Ireland and Portugal, and as Economist, where he worked on the negotiation of the Greek financial assistance programme Memorandum of Understanding, and Ireland post-programme surveillance.

Earlier in his career, he was an Economist at the Central Bank of Ireland, focused on macroeconomic model development, during which time he was also seconded to the European Central Bank as an ESCB/IO Expert.

Daragh began his career as a Research Officer at Teagasc, Ireland's agriculture and food development authority, where he evaluated the impact of Common Agricultural Policy reform. He was seconded to the Irish Ministry for Finance during the sovereign debt crisis, helping to enhance the department’s economic modelling infrastructure.

Daragh holds a PhD in Agricultural Economics from University College Dublin, where he received the Best First Year (Ph.D.) Research award from the Agricultural Economics Society of Ireland and was a Walsh Fellow. Daragh also holds an MA in Economics and a BA in Economics and History from the National University of Ireland, Galway. He has completed invitation-only programmes with the OECD, the IMF and the Study Centre Gerzensee, as well as training with the Banque de France and the Santa Fe Institute.

He is an Adjunct Professor of Economics at the University of Limerick’s triple-accredited Kemmy Business School since 2022. He has published widely in top-ranked international peer-reviewed journals, including The Review of Economic Studies, the International Journal of Central Banking and the American Journal of Agricultural Economics.. He has also won a research prize from the European Capital Markets Institute and was shortlisted for the Miriam Hederman O’Brien Prize. He served as Associate Editor of the Economic and Social Review from 2023 to 2025 and was a member of the local organising committee for the 2026 EEA-ESEM annual conference.
